Bridged polysilsesquioxanes. Highly porous hybrid organic-inorganic materials
Article Abstract:
Information on bridged polysilsesquioxanes, a family of hybrid organic-inorganic materials that are constructed through sol-gel polymerization, is reviewed. These three-dimensional network materials are characterized by the existence of an organic component that serves as an integral network component. The manipulation of bridged polysilsesquioxanes' properties can yield nonporous polymers or high-surface-area aerogels and xerogels.

Homocyclic silanes
Article Abstract:
Information reported since the early 1980s on the subject of cyclosilanes is reviewed. Cyclosilanes, in contrast to their carbon analogs, display electron delocalization effects somewhat like aromatic organic rings. Cyclosilanes' other unusual properties include delocalized cation and anion radicals, which are especially evident in six-, five-, and four-membered rings, and charged-transfer-complex formation.

Regio- and stereochemical aspects of the palladium-catalyzed reactions of silanes
Article Abstract:
A review of research into the regio- and stereochemical aspects of silanes' reactions with palladium complexes is presented. The review's scope is limited to reactions involving the cleaving or formation of a carbon-silicon or silicon-silicon bond. The review does not cover the creation of trimethylenemethane intermediates from acetoxy substituted allylsilanes or siloxane reactions with palladium catalysts.
