Oxiranyl anions and aziridinyl anions
Article Abstract:
Oxiranyl anions are unstable compounds, and their generation at room temperature leads to the formation of beta-oxido carbenoids. The carbenoids produce ketones, aldehydes, olefins and products resulting from carbo-hydrogen insertion. Hydrogen-lithium exchange reactions at less than -78 degree celsius yield stabilized oxiranyl anions. The reaction of these anions with electrophiles allows the asymmetric synthesis of epoxides. Aziridinyl anions are more stable than oxiranyl anions and are useful in the synthesis of organic compounds.

Artificial organic host molecules for anions
Article Abstract:
The anion binding capabilities of constructed inorganic frameworks were investigated. Some binuclear inorganic complex systems with anion binding properties which are closely related to analogous metal-free hosts were also observed. Polynuclear inorganic complexes were proven to have anion hosting properties in solution. The anion complexation capabilities of simple compounds were further analyzed by EXAFS studies.

Chemistry and thermochemistry of silicon-containing anions in the gas phase
Article Abstract:
Gas-phase examinations of silicon-containing anions can provide data on the chemistry and basic properties of some silicon species. Such studies can directly probe silicon-containing anions' reactivity. A general discussion concerning the use of negative-ion gas-phase studies, an overview of thermochemical properties obtained from such studies, and some general aspects of silicon-containing anions are discussed.
