Crystallization-induced diastereomer transformations
Article Abstract:
The use of crystallization-induced diastereomer transformations (CIDT) in organic synthesis is analyzed. A CIDT should be designed after studying equilibration and crystallization of a process separately. CIDT can be the most important tool in process chemistry where large scale synthesis is done as it offers significant capital and operating expense savings compared to other processes.

Catalytic asymmetric synthesis of [alpha]-amino acids
Article Abstract:
The catalytic asymmetric synthesis of various [alpha]-amino acids ([alpha]AAs) is discussed. The commonly used phase transfer catalysis (PTC) agents are found to be extremely useful in obtaining high-yields of these acids.
