Domino reactions in organic synthesis
Article Abstract:
Increasing concerns on the impacts of synthetic organic chemistry to the environment have created a need for chemical reactions that would allow the minimization of waste. These chemical reactions would be used in commercial production in place of stepwise reactions. Domino reactions are chemical reactions that would have no deleterious effect on the ecological balance. This type of transformation is also referred to as the cascade process in other studies. A review of the different kinds of domino reactions, their reagents and pathways is presented.
