Ion-molecule reactions with molecular clusters
Article Abstract:
The ion chemistry of molecular clusters were studied by resonant two-photon ionization, dispersed fluorescence spectroscopy and the new infrared/two photon ionization scheme depletion spectroscopy. Clusters were first produced in pulsed supersonic beams and then size selected by usage of laser-induced resonant multiphoton ionization and ancillary spectroscopic methods. The ion-molecule reactions within mixed clusters were classified as dissociative electron transfer, dissociative proton transfer and nucleophilic ipso substitution.

Photophysics and mechanisms of intramolecular electronic energy transfer in bichromophoric molecular systems: solution and supersonic jet studies
Article Abstract:
A review of the literature on the photophysics underlying the mechanism of intramolecular electronic energy transfer (EET) is presented. The review, which treats the event from both a radiative and nonradiative process perspective, defines EEET as a nonradiative decay of excited molecules. It traces the development of EET theory and discusses EET in bichromophoric molecules in solution and under supersonic jet-cooled conditions.
