Laser probing of single-aerosol droplet dynamics
Article Abstract:
The basis of light scattering from single aerosol droplets is examined to show how both elastic and inelastic light scattering can be used to examine the dynamics of single aerosol droplets directly and nonintrusively. Laser techniques for detecting these processes are very advanced and can provide precise measurements of particle size, composition and refractive index.

Building a room of my own
Article Abstract:
A writer describes how working with a friend who was a do-it-yourself genius, he built a small building in the woods behind his house as a home office. He discusses how some of the notions he harbored about nature and about carpentering were changed after the experience.

Notrino
Article Abstract:
The evidence for the existence of a heavy neutrino weighing 17,000 electron-volts stunned the physics world, but further research uncovered flaws in the original findings. The results would have radically changed accepted notions of sub-atomic physics.
