Microwave and infrared spectra of free radicals and molecular ions
Article Abstract:
The application spectroscopic analysis in the study of transient species was discussed. Microwave and infrared spectrometric techniques were developed to analyse molecular properties such as the fine and hyperfine structure constants in free radicals. The vibrational electronic interactions of linear and symmetric-top molecules were determined by the same methods. These methods were also applied in the determination of electronic properties of molecular ions and small-sized carbon and hydrocarbon radicals.

Spin-orbit coupling in free-radical reactions: on the way to heavy elements
Article Abstract:
The participation of spin-orbit coupling (SOC) in studying magnetic isotope effects (MIE) on radical pairs of heavier-than-carbon elements and its future use in isolating isotopes are analyzed. SOC has a role in the formation of exciplex, biradicals and radical pairs and both induces and quenches magnetic field effects (MFE). The efficiency of cage effects and measures of magnitude and directon of MFE are dependent on SOC.

Calorimetric investigations of phase transitions occurring in molecule-based magnets
Article Abstract:
The advances made in calorimetric studies of molecule-based magnets are presented, highlighting the role of calorimetric studies and the various practical applications of molecular-based magnets. Focus is laid on the phase transitions occurring under surrounding pressure and also under applied pressure and magnetic field.
