Organolithium reagents in pharmaceutical processes
Article Abstract:
Many asymmetric syntheses have been developed using organolitihum reagents and some of these processes have been scaled up in the plant and produced active pharmaceutical ingredients for clinical studies or commercial purpose. The catalytic addition of Li acetylides to ketones for the synthesis of the HIV inhibitor Efavirenz and the chiral-ligand-promoted alkylation of doubly benzylic carbon for the synthesis of anti cancer drug are the two examples of industrial applications of organolithium reagents to asymmetric reagents.

Manganese clusters with relevance to photosystem II
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted towards the synthesis and characterization of Mn-oxo complexes to understand the structural and physicochemical properties of the WO site in PSII. A major emphasis is put towards complexes that had direct or indirect relevance to the PSII Mn (sub 4) site.
