New developments in matrix isolation spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
A survey of published literature concerning the development of matrix isolation spectroscopy for the analysis of radicals, clusters, ions and reactive intermediates is presented. It details the use of laser vaporization to improve the technique and its application in electron spin resonance, infrared and optical absorption, and laser-induced fluorescence studies. Likewise, solutions to the problem of mass-selected ion and species deposition are discussed.

Theoretical methods for the description of the solvent effect in biomolecular systems
Article Abstract:
The authors review the publications on the models and computational techniques developed to represent molecules in solution. The topics of interest include the effect of the solvent on the biological systems, molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo methods, mixed quantum mechanics-classical methods and classical-continuum approaches used in solvation description.
