Photo-, thermo-, solvato-, and electrochromic spiroheterocyclic compounds
Article Abstract:
The synthesis and the spectral and photochemical properties of spiropyrans and spirooxazines, particularly in the context of their application in a variety of photo- and thermochromic materials and devices are reviewed. The study shows the readiness of the spiro carbon sites of various spiroheterocyclic compounds to break the C (Sub spiro) -X (X = C, N, O, S, Se) bonds, leading to the inclusion of the carbon atom in an extended Pi-conjugated system of the formed ring-opened isomer.

Mechanistic aspects of C-H activation by Pt complexes
Article Abstract:
An exploration of the C-H bond activation step in the Shilov cycle is presented and the oxidation and functionalization are briefly discussed. The C-H activation mechanism is determined not only by the nature of the metal center but also is strongly dependent on the reaction conditions.

C-C, C-O, C-N bond formation on s[p.sup.2] carbon by Pd(II)-catalyzed reactions involving oxidant agents
Article Abstract:
The formation of the C-C, C-O and C-N bonds on s[p.sup.2] carbon by employing a palladium (Pd(II))-oxidant agent catalytic system is discussed. The Pd catalysis system is found to be extremely versatile and hence can be used at different reaction conditions.
