Photochemistry and photophysics of Chromium(III) complexes
Article Abstract:
The changes that occur in the photophysical and photochemical characteristics of Chromium(III) due to the effects of the ligands remains a fertile area for study despite the advances made in the field of photochemistry. Despite efforts to explain the effects on doublet lifetime in terms of dynamic effects and its role in relieving ligand strain, other factors, including ligand flexibility, static distortions and clinging to solvent reactions, present their own alternative pathways to understanding what actually takes place.

Organosilane photochemistry
Article Abstract:
Information reported between the mid 1980s and 1994 on the photochemistry of organomonosilanes, disilanes, trisilanes, and some higher oligosilanes is reviewed. Silyl groups, by perturbing, through the 'beta effect,' diradical intermediates' relative energies, potentially influence carbonyl compounds' photoreactivity. A silyl group beta can afford considerable stabilization to a carbocation center.
