Protein control of redox potentials of iron-sulfur proteins
Article Abstract:
The modelling of variations in redox potentials of iron-sulfur proteins with changes in the protein environment involves accounting for Coloumbic interactions between the charged cluster and the protein to allow polarizability of the protein. The process should also consider the interactions of both the cluster and the protein with the aqueous medium. The use of Protein Dipoles Langevin Dipoles (PDLD) favours the incorporation of bulk water and intercalated water. Molecular dynamic averaging enhances the accuracy of the PDLD calculations.
