Surface plasmon resonance imaging measurements of ultrathin organic films
Article Abstract:
A description of the surface plasmon resonance optical technique, its usage, and application in imaging studies is presented. The technique is useful in characterizing lipid bilayer films, monitoring of antibody-antigen interactions occurring at surfaces, DNA hybridization absorption, and protein-DNA interactions.

Single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy of biomolecular motors
Article Abstract:
The mechanism of action of many members of the kinesin and myosin biomolecular motor protein families is explored through single-molecular fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy. This research complements X-ray to provide a better view into the local dynamic behavior of motor proteins.

Long-range resonance energy transfer in molecular systems
Article Abstract:
The molecular Resonance Energy Transfer (RET) and the recent development in the field are described. As a result of the introduction of some new principles underlying RET processes, many of the important concepts are covered together into a generalization of Foster's original theory.
