The activation of aromatic molecules with pentaammineosmium(II)
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the pentaammineosmium(II) activation of aromatic molecules. Results demonstrate that n2-coordinated metal stabilizes allyl, arenium and vinyl cations. Osmium system chemistry was also observed to activate unsaturated molecules that complement the metal-coordinated pi system nucleophilic addition. Further studies on alternative transition metal systems are advised for the expansion of the approach.

Theoretical studies on reactions of transition-metal complexes
Article Abstract:
An investigation of the results of recent ab initio and density functional theory research into transition-metal reactions is presented. It is possible to look at the factors that influence the chemical reactivity and selectivity by altering the transition metal, the ligands and their substituents and by considering the electronic structures of reaction system.

Transition-metal-mediated dearomatization reactions
Article Abstract:
This paper discusses the usefulness of the chemistry of transition-metal-mediated dearomatization in the synthesis of complex organic compounds with high regio-, chemo-, stereo-, and enantioselectively. Dearomatization methodology for arene complexes of chromium, manganese, and osmium are described.
