Dimeric and oligomeric steroids
Article Abstract:
The synthesis of bis- and oligosteroid derivatives and their isolation from natural products are discussed. It is recognized that cholic acid plays an important role in the synthesis of steroids, being an ideal building block for artificial enzymes owing to its structural and molecular properties. The asymmetric structure of steroids has been demonstrated through nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectroscopic studies.

Recent developments in mass spectrometry for the characterization of nucleosides, nucleotides, oligonucleotides, and nucleic acids
Article Abstract:
Several efforts are made to develop and implement methodologies and mass spectrometric methods for the study of the monomeric constituents of nucleic acids like nucleobases, nucleosides, nucleotides and derivatives. The vital contribution made by developments in mass spectrometry and tandem mass spectrometry to the detailed elucidation of structure and biological activity of DNA and its constituents is reviewed.
