Recent advances in the selective formation of the C-F bond
Article Abstract:
Fluorine can be incorporated into organic compounds with adequate stereo- and regioselectivity via electrochemical fluorination, nucleophilic and electrophilic reactions. Various compounds have been developed to support nucleophilic and electrophilic fluorination. Chemical reagents such as alkali metal, tetraalkylammonium and anhydrous hydrogen fluorides have proven effective in functioning as fluoride sources. However, some compounds only serve as fluorinating reagents for specific organofluorine reactions. In addition, recent developments allow the use of electrochemical processes for selective fluorination.

Synthesis, reactions, and proeprties of ONO systems
Article Abstract:
A classification of data on all compounds containing the ONO fargment is presented. Cycloaddition of nitronic esters, of nitrocompounds and nucleophilic substitution of chlorine in ONCI compounds are some of the methods found to be effective in synthetisizing ONO systems. The tendency of the system to react with electrophilic agents is attributed to the presence of a triad of heteroatoms with lone electron pairs. Analysis of the spectral properties of the system reveals a decrease on the p character of nitrogen lone electron pair.

Recent progress in O-glycosylation methods and its application to natural products synthesis
Article Abstract:
The recent developments in O-glycosylation, specifically on the glycosyl donors with their respective functions and activations and on the applications of glycosylation reactions to the synthesis of biologically attractive natural products, are discussed. Emphasis is given on the highly stereoselective syntheses of 2-deoxyglycosides and beta-D-mannoglycosides. The various synthetic methods discussed are found wanting in terms of chemical yield and stereoselectivity.
