Gartner Group report sizes up the midsize IT enterprise

Article Abstract:

Mid-sized businesses spend a greater proportion of their budget on information technology, according to a research conducted by the Gartner Group. Mid-sized enterprises are also more dependent on outside services than bigger companies. The report considered companies with 1,500 to 3,000 employees, revenues of as much as $700 million and an information support (IS) staff of as many as 70 people as mid-sized enterprises.

Dataquest study shows growth, room to grow in asset management

Article Abstract:

IT managers are spending more on IT asset management compared to two years ago, according to a 1998 study conducted by Dataquest. Almost half of the more than 200 IT managers interviews said they planned to boost asset management spending by an average of 35% by the end of 1998. Most respondents also said that IT asset management spending has resulted in cost savings of less than 10% for their companies.
