Panasonic: network-linkable fax conveys standard, e-mail documents
Article Abstract:
Panasonic's UF-770i fax machine can be utilized in sending electronic mail (e-mail) with the use of an Ethernet, 10Base-T or RJ-45 local area network (LAN) interface. The system transmits the e-mail message through the LAN to a server that in turn sends it via the Internet or through an intranet network, a function that will be useful for firms with international operations. Panasonic's UF-770i, which can be used with TCP/IP, SMTP and MIME formats, also acts as a G3 fax gateway by connecting existing phone lines and computer networks.
