Sampo rounds out picture for digital still cameras with extra features
Article Abstract:
Sampo Corp.'s DCE-400 and DCE-211 digital still cameras features 1/3-inch CCDs with square pixels to produce quality images. The DCE-400, with the aid of a CompactFlash equipped with a 2MB internal flash memory, is capable of storing up to seven pictures at its top setting, five in its medium-level mode and 30 in the its good setting. The DCE-211, which is capable of producing pictures in the VGA mode with the use of progressive scanning, also has a 10-second self-timer and a display showing its remaining image capacity.

Taiwan Telecommunication Industry Company Ltd's CCD-based TDC-150 digital still camera features a monitor consisting of a 1.8-inch thin-film diode color LCD. Integrating a video codec that employs the audio-video interleave file format, TCD-150 operates with personal computers using Macintosh or Windows operating systems. The newly launched product is capable of handling color images with a 10-bit image-processing system.
