Panasonic's NV-DCFS accommodates close-ups, provides ample capacity

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. markets the Panasonic NV-DCFS digital still camera, which allows storage of up to 120 images on a 4MB card. By using a 10MB card, users can store even more images. The recorded images are then transferable to a personal computer or to a Panasonic digital video printer. The camera has a multiple-image reproduction feature that allows the display of up to 18 frames an a TV and it also has a slide reproduction mode for one by one presentation of the images at intervals of around 5 seconds. NV-DCFS also has a macro function for images as near as 3cm and a 2-inch, polysilicon LCD monitor with a focusing window.

Canon Inc's MultiPASS L100 multi-function facsimile, which is sold for around Y59,800, features six functions that include printer, scanner, personal computer fax, laser fax, copier and telephone. In the laser fax mode, the machine can transmit and receive data in fine picture quality by employing such features as Canon's Genesis image processing technology. Canon markets most of its facsimiles in the US and Europe.
