Thermal Transfer Copying Technology Addresses Needs for Color Printers
Article Abstract:
The increase in the use of personal computers is creating a need for highly reliable and inexpensive printers. Recent developments and marketing trends are directed towards thermal transfer printers (TTP) that print in color on plain paper. The development of TTP is dependent upon components such as thermal heads, direct thermal printers (DTP), and ink donor film (IDF). Future development trends are focusing upon TTP-applied products with processing and full-color duplicators. Charts and diagrams are used to illustrate features of the thermal transfer printer.
