Toshiba, Samsung aim to offer 128MB SmartMedia card by 2001

Samsung Electronics Company Ltd. and Toshiba Corp. plan to enter a joint-development deal for the joint marketing and creation of SmartMedia cards. The planned joint-development venture between Samsung Electronics and Toshiba is aimed at launching in 2001 the new 128-megabyte SmartMedia card. The proposed SmartMedia card joint-development venture between Samsung Electronics and Toshiba also came after Toshiba was able to boost its SmartMedia card's capacity through its control-technology breakthrough.
