Uninterruptible Power Systems Prevent Data Loss, Downtime, and Damage to Minicomputers
Article Abstract:
Emerson Electric Co. has developed a series of uninterruptible power systems for minicomputers. The series consists of the 3, 5 and 10 KVA models. The power systems are equipped with built-in batteries which can provide up to ten minutes of power at full load. On-board microprocessors check battery voltage and figure the time left before battery discharge. Single-unit prices are $8,000, $10,000, and $15,000 for the 3, 5 and 10 KVA models respectively. A photograph of the system is included.
