WP Software: Satisfying OA Market Needs
Article Abstract:
The industry currently offers two choices for meeting word processing (WP) needs: the dedicated word processor and microcomputer WP software. The microcomputer approach is gaining popularity due to flexibility and low cost. When making the decision between a dedicated WP or microcomputer software capability, the need for shared resources, ergonomics, training, support and basic features should be analyzed. If a WP software package is needed, functionality, ease of use, flexibility, documentation, support, hardware limitations and printer support should be considered. A demonstration aimed at individual needs is helpful. A sample screen display of a typical word processing software package is included.
