Wired Communications Equipment Exhibits Phenomenal Growth
Article Abstract:
The electronics industry is experiencing considerable growth in Japan. The most growth is occurring in the use of electronic equipment for industrial purposes. This equipment consists of computers and related equipment, telecommunication products, electric measuring instruments and office machines. Telecommunications equipment represents an estimated thirty-three per cent of the production of industrial electronic equipment. Wired equipment, such as telephones, electronic switchboards and facsimiles, account for sixty-three per cent of telecommunications equipment.

Networks, Data-Sharing Equipment Dominate Exhibits at Data Show '84 (Part 1)
Article Abstract:
The twelfth annual Data Show held in September 1984, sponsored by the Japan Electronic Industry Development Association and the Communication Industry Association of Japan, drew 130,000 attendees and 155 suppliers. Data communications and Japan's Captain (character and pattern telephone access information network) and INS (information network system) were the focal points. Seventeen prominent vendors and their roles in the show are examined. Suppliers include such major companies as Toshiba and Sharp. A number of photographs of the show are shown.

Europe exhibits some eye-catching trends in LCD projectors
Article Abstract:
The European market for LCD projectors is particularly robust and stable, posting an increase of 20% in sales to about 200,000 units in 1998. Technical improvements in LCDs, such as connectivity to personal computers, and the stress on the important role of information on the success of a business are some of the factors credited for the growing interests in LCD projectors. Analysts forecast the European market for LCD projectors could grow as much as 50% to 300,000 units in 1999.
