Article Abstract:

UK construction companies gain no savings just from long-term relationships with clients, according to research undertaken by the Reading Construction Forum. However, time savings of more than 80% and cost savings of more than 50% can result from the most highly developed partnering deals between construction concerns and their clients. Partnering also brings a range of other benefits, including improved certainty and flexibility and higher levels of innovation. There are particular advantages associated with third-generation partnering, which requires wide-reaching changes to attitudes, technology and organization.
