Article Abstract:
The Java programming language has the ability to exploit communications technologies such as the Internet. Java programs can run on almost all existing personal computers, and come as standard on all new equipment. With a Java-based network computer, software is held centrally, thus allowing the information technology department to remain in full control. The computer itself can be made less expensive, as it no longer requires a hard disk.
