A new dimension
Article Abstract:
Ensuring a greater use and understanding of information technology (IT) within the construction industry would increase productivity and lead to a revolution of the industry, according to IT expert Ray Crotty. State of the art technology was used for the project handling of the 650 million pounds sterling Bluewater retail part in Kent, which Crotty claims helped the project to come in on time and in budget. A lack of commonality is cited as one of the problems preventing a greater use of IT within the industry, although Crotty suggests the use of a standard classification system.
