Cincinnati Bell spins off Convergys
Article Abstract:
Cincinnati Bell has filed for a spin-off and initial public offering of Convergys, the entity that would combine the firm's subsidiaries Cincinatti Bell Information Systems Inc. and Matrixx. The proposed spin-off and IPO, which is set to undergo Securites and Exchange review in July 1998, is expected to generate $425 million. Proceeds of the moves will pay down roughly $725 million in debt the group will bear as part of the debt assumed by Cincinnati Bell to fund the Transtech acquisition. Convergys will reportedly aim to develop long-term strategic relationships with clients having complex billing needs or intensive customer service requirements.
