Clock ticks on ValueVision merger deal
Article Abstract:
ValueVision International Inc. of Minneapolis, MN's tentative merger with National Media Corp. of Philadelphia is drawing mixed reactions on whether the union will close as the May 31 deadline draws near. Both firms had been prompted to postpone their annual shareholder meetings after opposing ValueVision shareholders had earlier notified their intention to vote against the deal. National Media's Quantum Television division, Jack Kirby, remains optimistic that an agreement could surface between the firms. Both companies, meanwhile, can pursue other deals if the planned acquisition does not close by the deadline.
