Community grading comes full circle

Article Abstract:

A discussion of the ABCD system of rating mobile home parks is presented. The system can be used in relating property quality to income capitalization value as well as comparing replacement cost and market-based methods to valuation. Previously, the manufactured housing industry was using three valuation methods in assessing mobile home parks. The first method was based on the replacement cost per site, the second used market comparables while the third utilized income capitalization.

A call to pride and professionalism

Article Abstract:

The manufactured houses industry refuses to gain full momentum because of regulatory barriers to affordable housing. The government needs to draft legislation promoting the industry to widen its share of the housing market. Likewise, the industry itself needs to improve its marketing strategies, upgrade its products and become more active for a more successful business.
