Cowboys will roo the day
Article Abstract:
The state of Victoria, Australia, has taken a tough stance against the plumbing trade. There is strict self-regulation, along with compulsory insurance to protect clients. There is also legislation under which plumbers who go against the rules can be fined or banned from working in the industry. The state's 17,000 qualified plumbers are now officially registered or licensed by the Plumbing Industry Board, and this has led to a significant improvement in standards. Plumbing Industry Board Chmn and Chief Executive Michael Kefford is now advising the UK government on improving building trade standards.
