Tender cost forecast: despite the reduction in most construction industry forecasts over the past quarter, cost consultant Davis Langdon & Everest predicts an increase in tender prices of 4-8% over the next year
Article Abstract:
Construction industry tender prices rose 2.5% in the second quarter of 1995 following a rise in new orders. One of the strongest sectors is industrial building, and private commercial orders rose 9% in the first quarter. Building costs have also risen mostly due to the increase in materials prices. The south east represents the larger proportion of the industry's workload, especially since the order for the Channel tunnel was placed.
