Drawn daggers in the professions help no one
Article Abstract:
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has misunderstood and denegrated architects in its submission to the Department of the Environment's review of the Architects Registration Act. The RICS asserts that many building surveying courses are equivalent to architecture courses and that the building surveyor's training is more comprehensive. However, the RICS fails to percieve the artistic and theoretical nature of architecture. It is unhelpful for professions in the construction industry to undermine eachother.

A perfect chance to redefine the role of architect
Article Abstract:
The Architects' Registration Act and the Architects' Registration Council of the UK have been abolished by the government. The Act was introduced in the 30s to make sure that the title 'architect' was only used by professional people. Action could only be taken against abusers of title if it was used in connection with the practice of architects. Critics oppose the abolition as they think that the title will be discedited by unprofessionals.
