Fleece-backed EPDM takes hold
Article Abstract:
A fleece-backed EPDM, fully-adhered with a spray-applied adhesive, will, first off, adhere both the membrane and the insulation, with every layer of spray-applied adhesive adding a little extra R-value to the roof assembly. Once the adhesive expands, it effectively fills in gaps between the insulation board, eradicating thermal bridging. With a peel-and-stick vapor retarder, a tenacious adhesive can make a fleece-backed EPDM attain a rating of FM 1-990.
