Married to the job
Article Abstract:
The competition to design the 20 million pounds sterling Museum of World Culture in Gothenburg, Sweden, was won by a married couple, Architects Cecile Brisac and Edgar Gonzalez. The building is due to be completed by 2003. The couple have been working for a number of architects whilst preparing for design competitions in their own time. They set up the own practice in 1995 and have an office in Soho, London, England. The couple have been together since 1988. They have worked in Florida, US, and in Paris, France.

Issues are presented concerning the effect which damage from climatic change is likely to have on the construction of buildings. The building of property on land liable to flood and the provision of flood defences is discussed.
