Glastron pays tribute to top-selling dealers

Article Abstract:

Glastron Boats in Little Falls, MN, recently paid tribute to its top retailers during its 1999 Dealer Conference in St. Petersburg, FL. Tied in the No. 1 volume dealer award for the 1998 model year were the National Boat Center in Fort Worth, TX, and Duchow's Boat Center in Fox Lake, IL, and the Oconomowoc, WI. The No. 1 international dealer award was given to Thames Boat Centre in Windsor, England. Garnering the top new dealer award, meanwhile, was Coastal 1 Marine in Dania, FL. Several other dealers also received distinguished awards, including recognition for customer service and top sales volume.

Yamaha's IMTEC exhibit called 'visual proof' of commitment

Yamaha Marine is launching an entirely new and larger exhibit at the International Marine Trades Exhibit and Conference (IMTEC) which the company terms as a visual proof its commitment to IMTEC. Yamaha's exhibit provides emphasis on commitment which is demonstrated by specific stations for dealer network planning, OEM and international opportunities. The two other largest outboard manufacturers, namely, Mercury Marine and Outboard Marine Corp, both passed up the 2000 IMTEC due to dealer meetings.

Kawasaki to sell gear on the Web

Kawasaki Motors Corp of Santa Ana, CA, has started selling apparel and accessories for its Jet Ski line of personal watercraft on Apr 5, 2000. The company's move to go online has received approval from its dealer network since the boatbuilder is providing dealers a siginificant share of the profits. In its online venture, Kawasaki gives a customer-designated dealer 60% of the gross margin for every item sold at www.buykawasaki.com.
