Grady thanks dealers for another big year

Grady White Boats held its October dealer meeting in New Bern, NC, where dealers were shown the prototype of Grady's new 33-ft Express 330 and the completely remodeled Sailfish 282 walkaround. The company presented the Gold Anchor Award to Schilling Boathouse of Hilton Head Island, SC, for attaining the highest measure of customer satisfaction while the Gold Award for highest sales went to Cataumet Marine of Cataumet, MA. Grady also admitted 25 other dealerships into the Admiral's Circle for excellence in customer satisfaction.

Findings of the Mendelsohn Affluent Head-of-Household Study 2000 reports shows sailors and powerboaters share similar demographics with land skiers and golfers. The study found that the average head-of-household income for sailors is $142,772 per year, while the yearly average for powerboaters is $131,867. Similarly, the average golfing head-of-household earns $131,000 while the skier earns $139,056. Both demographic groups also had the same educational background.

Nova Scotia exports

The performance of Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Assn's (NSBA) booths in several US boat shows indicates a strong US market for its boats. At the Maine Boatbuilders' Show in Mar 1999, the NSBA booth got 23 referrals, mostly for pleasure boats. The NSBA trade delegation were also encouraged to export its boats to the US after visits to the Florida International Boatbuilders' Exposition and Conference amd the Miami International Boat Show.
