How you can avoid ADA discrimination
Article Abstract:
The provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be applied to small businesses with 15 employees or more starting on July 26, 1995. While small employers are understandably concerned about their liabilities under the ADA, they can avoid being charged under this law by taking note of past errors committed by bigger employers. These errors include failing to define the important functions of a job, asking applicants about their disabilities, maintaining a work environment not conducive to handicapped workers and requiring a pre-employment medical examination.
