It's showtime again
Article Abstract:
Pres George Bush's proposals to provide tax credits for house buyers and his appeal for more affordable housing echo his awareness of the prefabricated houses industry's needs. This attitude is shown at a time when the industry is experiencing an increase in demand, which results in the evident scarcity of models of manufactured houses in retail stores. The boost in demand reiterates the fact that the industry is growing and needs to be accorded the same treatment that is given to other types of housing.

Is it election time again
Article Abstract:
Members of the manufactured home industry are urged to remain vigilant and become keen observers in the political scene. Only by following what is going on in politics are members to become aware of legislators who are worth supporting. Manufactured home retailers and manufacturers should look for legislators who are sympathetic to their program in the industry and vigorously support them for the continuity of purpose that the industry needs to maintain in the years to come.

Changing labels again?
Article Abstract:
Initiatives to find terms to better describe products of the manufactured housing industry may only create confusion within the industry. An example of this are the once distinct terms 'mobile home' and 'manufactured housing' in land-lease communities. Changes in consumer preferences has caused these two terms to overlap meanings thereby causing an ambiguity of reference.
