MPs slam PFI testing rules
Article Abstract:
There have been considerable delays in dealing with public sector construction projects since the UK government introduced a policy of testing all these projects for private finance options in late 1994. A forthcoming Treasury Select Committee report is likely to call for this policy to be reviewed or for stricter guidelines which would mean that some types of projects are not subjected to private finance testing. The Treasury will either have to follow the recommendations of this committee or explain why it is not able to.
