NEBS drops 5 million mail pieces a year in Canada

NEBS Business Forms sends out 100,000 to 150,000 mail pieces weekly, for a total of 5 million, to small Canadian firms annually. The campaign promotes the company's business cards, forms, stationery, thank you cards and other office items. NEBS utilizes a million name house file that is updated monthly with new business names coming from list brokers, the yellow pages and from Getco, the firm that collects new business registration data from local authorities. NEBS develops customized catalogs to target the needs of specific businesses. For example, one is aimed at contractors, and another for clothing retailers.

China poised to be world's second largest PC market

International Business Machines Corp (IBM) predicts that the computer market in China will grow by 20% annually, with PCs accounting for 67% of the market. The company has adopted a long-term strategy to boost its share in China establishing five joint ventures including a software production facility that employs local students. IBM also opened a $17- million an advanced call center in Beijing to handle orders, fulfillment and other support tasks.
