Acxiom to build database for UK financial services
Article Abstract:
Acxiom Ltd. is creating a database for Prudential Corp., one of the leading financial institutions in the UK. The new database, called Marcia, will replace Prudential's Marcus database that contained the names of the company's 15 million UK customers. The new database will improve on the previous database by allowing more targeted campaigns and giving Prudential an opportunity to make better-informed and quick marketing decisions. The first phase of the database is already finished and the entire system is expected to be completed by the end of 1998.

Experian plugs product sampling program
Article Abstract:
Experian has launched its new service called Product Sampling Program in June 1999. The service, which taps its Insource database, is designed to assist marketers of branded goods to better target special group of people. The Insource database covers more than 98% of US household with as many as 1,000 selects per household, such as newspapers delivered, annual income, number of children and brands used.
