Networking for fun and profit

Article Abstract:

Networking is an important way of promoting product and service sales. Components of successful networking are joining professional groups and other identification of special interest groups with which interaction would be useful. One should set a goal for number of networking contacts per week or per day, depending on one's circumstances. Networking can also be advanced by taking opportunities to broaden business or personal outlook, by reading, attending meetings and seminars, writing articles and giving speeches.

Affordable housing study boosts industry, gets little attention

Article Abstract:

The report of the Advisory Commission on Regulatory Barriers to Affordable Housing, entitled 'Not in My Back Yard: Removing Barriers to Affordable Housing,' (NIMBY) addresses the various obstacles to affordable housing. It also gives recommendations for reforms, which include prohibiting local communities from enacting laws forbidding prefabricated housing. However, politicians ignore the report's recommendations for fear of not being reelected by voters afflicted with the NIMBY syndrome.
