How planners see windows
Article Abstract:
UK housebuilders should be aware that planning officers look negatively upon the use of standard house types to which an apparently random collection of details is added. They are particularly opposed to details which do not seem to relate to the local area, and would often prefer very plain designs. They pay particular attention to window styles, but also look at the overall proportions of the house and at the site as a whole, including layout and parking spaces.
