Production to begin soon at Luhrs plant in Britain
Article Abstract:
The Luhrs Marine Group will begin boat production at its new UK facility by the end of 2000. The facility, on Portland Island in Dorset, UK, is a former naval helicopter base. Stephen Cutsforth has been appointed to head the British facility, to be called Luhrs Marine Ltd, with Peter Allam directing production operations. Luhrs Marine will initially manufacture Hunter Marine mid-sized sailboats at the facility but may add Mainship trawlers in the future.
