Save the Children partners with Pax TV for August launch

Paxson Communications Corp. announces that Save the Children, a non-profit organization based in Westport, CT, has teamed with the firm for a proposed rollout of new spots that will be aired in accordance with the debut of Pax TV on Aug 31, 1998. Aside from a 60-second and 120-second spots, the charity will air a 30-second promotion that was specifically produced to air on Pax TV. The TV spots aims to encourage viewers to call a toll-free number to get more information about sponsoring a needy child. The partnership, meanwhile, marks the first time for the non-profit organization to team with a broadcast network on a promotion.

Razor & Tie gives Cledus DRTV sales bounce

Razor & Tie Direct Llc., the New York-based company that markets the "Monsters or Rock" and Rolling Stone's "Women of Rock" music collections on television, recently rolled out another DRTV campaign for the country music parodist Cledus T. Judd. The marketing effort aims to promote retail sales of Judd's new album "Did I Shave My Back for This?," which has been available in the music stores for several months. The spots, which was aired on Country Music Television and Great American Country, are reportedly driving retail sales. Sales for the album has boosted 33% from 3,000 copies a week to 4,000 a week.
