Article Abstract:
The National Marine Manufacturers Assn reported that 147,872 visitors attended the Miami International Boat Show which was held Feb 17-22, 2000. The Show's participants and e-commerce entrepreneurs reported higher sales than expected. Show manager Cathy Johnston said the sales reflected a 'strong boating market' for the beginning of the 21st century. NMMA pres Thomas Dammrich said the strong sales figures were indicative of the fact that consumers are rediscovering the joys of the boating lifestyle and also because the industry is striving to offer an improved boating experience.
