Service offers name-your-term mortgages
Article Abstract:
Priceline. com is slated to launch a name-your-terms mortgages in fall 1998 designed to enable consumers to name a price and let an airline or lender decide whether to accept it. The online auto and airline-ticket broker planned the service through an agreement with Charlotte, NC-based Lending Tree Inc. Priceline.com was founded in April 1998 as a way airlines could market excess capacity near the flight date without cannibalization of business-travel revenue. Priceline.com could also allow home mortgage seekers to name their preferred interest rates and other details, then Lending Tree will work to find a lender wanting to meet the terms.
