Radio station tests Web relationship

WARM 94.9 FM, a soft-rock station in Tampa, FL, that is owned by Cox Enterprises, is integrating radio and Internet to boost its relationship with listeners and expands its database of e-mail addresses. Currently being tested by the station is Totally Interactive Radio, a product that allows listeners to log onto the stations Web site and comment on the music being played in real time. Listeners who tap into the site can link to more information about the artist and CD, buy the CD online, check out WARM Interactive top 10 songs and more. With system, the station is also able to build e-mail database in all its local radio markets and then use the list to market to the community.

BMG e-mail is music to fan's ears

BMG Entertainment of New York, a division of Bertlesmann AG, is set to e-mail 15-second music samples to thousands of music fans who visit its three genre-based Web sites: www.bugjuice.com, www.peeps.com and www.twang-this.com. The latest songs and album snapshots of various artists will hit an undetermined number of names collected from the company's consumer database. The artists include Natalie Imruglia, BR5-49 and A Tribe Called Quest. The company will also use a2b's digital delivery system to offer free full-length downloads of new releases from such BMG artists as Eve 6, Alabama and Big Punisher.
